Custom Apparel for Local Businesses — More Than Just a Logo on a Shirt
We work with a lot of different businesses here at Sport X Canada.
Landscapers. Refrigeration companies. Mechanical shops. A gun range. Dance schools. The Rotary Club. Tech companies. Painters. If there's a business in the Fraser Valley that needs their name on something — chances are we've worked with someone just like them.
And while every order is a little different, the conversation usually starts the same way: we need some shirts with our logo on them.
That's always the starting point. But by the time we're done talking, most business owners realize there's a lot more they can do with custom apparel than they first thought.
It Starts with Your Team
For most local businesses, the first priority is staff apparel. Uniforms, workwear, polos, hoodies — something that puts your brand on your team and makes them look the part.
This matters more than people give it credit for. When your crew shows up to a job site in matching branded gear, it signals professionalism before anyone says a word. When your front-of-house staff is in consistent, well-designed apparel, it reinforces your brand every time a customer walks in.
We work with businesses across the board on this — from a single owner-operator who wants a few embroidered polos to a company outfitting an entire crew in branded workwear. No minimum order, no complicated process.
Then There's the Promotional Side
Staff apparel is one thing. Promotional apparel is another — and it's where things get interesting.
A lot of businesses order branded items not just for their team, but to give away. To customers. To partners. At events, trade shows, or as part of a thank-you package.
A well-made hoodie or a quality hat with your logo on it doesn't get thrown away. It gets worn — at the grocery store, at the kids' soccer game, around the neighbourhood. That's your brand moving through the community on its own.
We've helped businesses put together promo packages that include a mix of items — t-shirts for giveaways, nicer pieces for loyal customers or key partners, headwear for events. It doesn't have to be complicated, and it doesn't have to break the budget.
The Decoration Method Makes a Difference
Not every logo belongs on every item the same way. Part of what we do is help businesses figure out what decoration method works best for what they're trying to achieve.
- DTF (Direct to Film) — great for full-colour logos, complex designs, or smaller quantities. Vibrant and versatile.
- Embroidery — the right call for workwear, polos, and headwear where a premium, professional finish matters.
- Screen printing — cost-effective for larger runs of t-shirts or casual wear with a bold, simple logo.
Not sure which one is right for you? That's exactly the kind of conversation we have every day. Read our full breakdown here →
And Here's the Part Most Business Suppliers Don't Offer
When a local business orders with Sport X Canada, something else happens that's a little different from the usual supplier relationship.
Through our Give-Back Program, a portion of every business order — 25 to 40% of the order value — is donated to a school, PAC, sports team, or charity of your choice.
You get the apparel your business needs. A community organization you care about gets a real donation. It's a straightforward way to support your community while doing something you were already going to do anyway.
Some of our business clients direct their donation to the school their kids attend. Others support a local sports team or a charity that means something to them. It's entirely your call.
What a Typical Business Order Looks Like
Every order is different, but here's a sense of the range we work with:
- A landscaping company outfitting their crew in branded t-shirts, hoodies and hats for the season
- A mechanical shop ordering embroidered workwear for their technicians
- A local business putting together a mix of staff polos and branded giveaways for a community event
- A service company ordering a small run of quality hoodies, t-shirts and softshell jackets as client appreciation gifts
If you've been thinking about getting something done — even if you're not quite sure what you need yet — the best first step is just a conversation.
